"Apple iPhone 4S vs Samsung Galaxy S2 – Specs and Features Head to Head Battle"
Comparison between Apple iPhone 4S and Samsung Galaxy S2 – Both Samsung and Apple have fought many battles with their smart phone installments. With the new iPhone 4S releasing shortly, Samsung seems to have been unmoved until 2012, when it has decided to release the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Samsung Galaxy S2 had proven to be a very hard contender to go up against the iPhone 4, making it look weak in numerous playing fields. Does the iPhone 4S hold up well against the Samsung Galaxy S2? Let’s take a look at both of these amazing smart phones and come to a decisive conclusion.
Processor and RAM:
When it comes to processing power the Samsung Galaxy S2 boasts Dual-core 1.2GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor, that works alongside the Mali-400MP GPU, and further supported by the Exynos chipset. A very powerful processor indeed, but does it hold up well against the processor of the iPhone 4S? The iPhone 4S has received an upgrade to the A5 processor which is a 1 GHz ARM Cortex-A9 MPCore processor. Not much is known about its GPU or chipset though. Apart from the processor both of these phones come with an allocation of 1GB worth of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S2 has that .2 more GHz processing power still, and in such a case we can only assume that the processingpower of the Samsung Galaxy S2 is superior to that of the iPhone 4S.
Storage:
The Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with two different packages of either 16 GB or 32 GB worth of RAM. The 16 GB version is viable to upgrade to 32 GB through the usage of a microSD card. The iPhone 4S however comes in three different installments. A 16GB package, a 32GB version or a whopping 64GB worth of internal memory allocated for the iPhone 4S. Though Apple still does not allow the user to use a microSD card for further memory boosts. However with the installment of the 64GB version of the iPhone 4S, we can clearly see that the victor in this scenario is Apple’s iPhone 4S.
Camera:
The Apple iPhone 4S now comes with a 8 MP camera, that works with 3264×2448 pixels. The camera is supported by an LED flash and the auto focus feature. The Samsung Galaxy S2 boasts the same camera in this regard. Both the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S2 allow for recording to be done at 1080p HD resolution and not much of a difference can be made between the smart phones when talking about camera performance. The Samsung Galaxy S2 also has a 2 MP secondary camera while the iPhone 4S also has one for video conferencing. In this regard both the phones stay out on a draw.
Dimensions and Display:
The iPhone 4S has changed in no means as compared to the iPhone 4 when it comes to dimensions. The iPhone 4S measures in at 115.2 mmx58.6 mmx9.3 mm. While the Samsung Galaxy S2’s dimensions measure in at 125.3 x 66.1 x 8.5 mm. In regards to the weight of the phones the Samsung Galaxy S2 weighs at a total of 116 grams while the iPhone 4 weighs in at a total of 140 grams.
In regards to screen quality the Samsung Galaxy S2 has a super AMOLED Plus capacitive touch screen, that works on 16M colors. It’s resolution maxes out at 480 x 800 pixels, and the screen measures at a total of 4.3 inches. The iPhone 4S on the other hand sticks with the High-resolution Retina display which works on 960×640 resolution, and has the same screen size as that of the iPhone 4. As we all have known when it comes to screens, bigger has always proven to be better, so we are passing the bolt to the Samsung Galaxy S2 as the victor in regards to screen quality.
Battery:
The iPhone 4S comes with a lithium-ion battery that allows for up to 8 hrs of talk time, 200 hrs of standby time and 40 hrs of music playback time. The Samsung Galaxy S2 comes with a standard Lithium-ion battery as well that works on 1650 mAh. It allows for up to 8hrs and 40 minutes of talk time and a whopping 610 hrs of stand-by time. Clearly the battery in the Samsung Galaxy S2 has a greater advantage.

Final Verdict:
As of now nothing can be said with decisiveness because not everything is clear about the iPhone 4S. Yet for all we know as of now, it seems that things look bad for the iPhone 4S when put against the Samsung Galaxy S2. The Samsung Galaxy S2 still has a more powerful processor, a much bigger screen, and overall better feel to it. Let’s wait and watch out for the iPhone 4S and see how it develops itself on the smart phone arena.
